Shelter Friends
My wife and I were in Tel Aviv when the Israel-Gaza war started On October 7th, 2023.
We stayed at an Air BnB in the old South of Tel Aviv.
During the ten days that we stayed after the war started, we went to the building shelter (the basement) almost every day. I brought my camera several times and took these portraits of our neighbors while rockets were falling toward our city sector. They were the nicest people; they welcomed us, offered help, and even sang Happy Birthday to me.

אשתי ואני היינו בתל אביב כשהחלה מלחמת ישראל-עזה ב-7 באוקטובר 2023.
אנחנו מתארחים ב-Air BnB בדרום הישן של תל אביב.
בעשרת הימים ששהינו לאחר תחילת המלחמה, הלכנו למקלט הבניין (המרתף) כמעט כל יום. הבאתי את המצלמה שלי כמה פעמים כאשר וצילמתי את הדיוקנאות האלה של השכנים שלנו בזמן שרקטות נפלו לעבר הגזרה שלנו בעיר.
הם היו האנשים הכי נחמדים, קיבלו אותנו בברכה, הציעו עזרה ואפילו שרו לי יום הולדת שמח.
